KNPB Mission Remains the Target
KNPB’s mission is to enrich the lives of individuals and improve its community by focusing the power of media to advance education, culture, and citizenship.
KNPB exists to serve the public interest. We recognize that television is among the most powerful and influential educational tools our society holds.
Public television is the only national media institution whose central purpose is to use that tool for the public good, not financial profit. KNPB is the local educational and cultural institution in northern Nevada, which couples the power of media with power of the people in our community to serve the public good.
