Silver Springs Channel 31 translator changes. — posted June 14, 2010

Beginning on Thursday June 17, 2010, KNPB will be turning off the analog translator K31MB at Silver Springs Nevada.  At that time we will replace it with a Digital signal.

Anyone in the Fernley, Fallon, Silver Springs, Yerington, and Dayton who had been receiving KNPB on analog channel 31 will now need to rescan their Converter Box or digital TV in order to receive this new digital signal. It then should be designated as Channels 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 in their display.

At the same time the translator that services Hawthorne and several other communities to the East and South of Hawthorne will also be switched from an analog signal to a digital signal. The same effect as above will come into effect. And the same solution will need to be enacted.

This will be a permanent change for all these communities.
