KNPB President & CEO Elected to AFP Foundation National Board

(Reno)  KNPB Public Television’s President & CEO, Kurt Mische, has been elected to the AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) Foundation for Philanthropy National Board of Directors. The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy’s purpose is to generate resources to fund strategic initiatives that advance ethical and effective fundraising worldwide.

Mische is the only representative from public broadcasting currently serving on this board. Based in Arlington, VA, AFP is an organization of over 28,500 members in 230 chapters worldwide that has helped to raise $100 billion for philanthropic organizations and causes. Mische is a member of the Reno Nevada AFP chapter.

“This is a great honor and a big responsibility,” Mische said. “I have been involved with AFP for many years and have the greatest respect for the organization and all that it does. I hope to share some of public broadcasting’s best practices with this group and learn from my peers as well,” he added.

Mische has been the President & CEO of KNPB since September 2009. He also serves on the boards of the Pacific Mountain Network and California Public Television. He is a member of the Renown Hospital Community Advisory Board, the Holland Project Community Advisory Board and the downtown Reno Rotary Club.
