KNPB President re-elected to 2 Chairmanships

RENO, Nev. July 11, 2016— Kurt Mische, the President & CEO of KNPB Public Television in Reno, has been re-elected Chairman of the Executive Council of the Pacific Mountain Network (PMN) and President of California Public Television and Californians for Public Broadcasting at the two organizations’ annual meetings. 

 

The California PTV meeting was held June 14 in Sacramento.  Other officers elected to one-year terms were Tom Karlo, General Manager of KPBS-TV & FM San Diego (Vice President), David Lowe, President & General Manager of KVIE Sacramento (Treasurer) and Phil Meyer, President & CEO of Valley Public Television in Fresno (Secretary).  

California PTV and Californians for Public Television is a 12 member group of public television stations serving California.  KNPB is a member of that group because it serves the northeastern California communities of Susanville, Truckee, North Lake Tahoe and Bridgeport.  

The Pacific Mountain Network meeting was held June 20.  Other officers elected to two-year terms were Ron Pisaneschi General Manager of Idaho Public Television (Vice –Chair), Harris Ravine, Chief Operating Officer of Rocky Mountain PBS (Secretary) and James Morgese, General Manager of KBYU-TV (Treasurer).

The Pacific Mountain Network is a group of 32 public television stations located in the Rocky Mountain and Pacific states that develop regionally oriented programs.  PMN also administers a grant program for television productions.  KNPB is a PMN member station.

Mische has been with KNPB since 2009.  He serves on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Reno, the Holland Project Advisory Board, and the AFP Foundation (Association of Fundraising Professionals) Fundraising Committee.
