(Reno, Nev.) - Peter Stanton, KNPB Vice President of Development, has been selected to take part in the Leadership Reno-Sparks program, led by the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce. The 9-month mentorship and development training program is designed to increase knowledge and awareness of the issues and challenges facing northern Nevada.
“I believe that learning from our community’s leaders and developing lasting relationships will further our mission-driven work at KNPB,” said Stanton. “For me, joining this program is about driving the impact that we create here.”
With over 1,000 graduates since 1985, the Leadership Reno-Sparks program has helped produce hundreds of managers, community leaders, business owners and entrepreneurs. Every year, the Leadership Reno-Sparks class tackles a special community project that engages participants in a real-world exercise that also helps build the community.
“What an honor it is to have one of our own getting so involved in making a difference,” said KNPB President and CEO Kurt Mische. “This program offers an exciting chance for us all to see what else we can do to better serve all of our communities.”
Stanton and other participants will focus on communication, developmental organization and community participation. The program begins January 2019.
