KNPB Winner of Four Communicator Awards

KNPB Winner of Four Communicator Awards for Local Productions and Promotions

RENO, Nev. May 22, 2019 —Northern Nevada PBS Member Station, KNPB received three awards for its local arts series ARTEFFECTS and one for a promotional video based on the station’s educational services in the 2019 International Communicator Awards Competition.

“We are thrilled to receive such fantastic news” said Megan Myers, Vice President of Content and Marketing. “At KNPB we are proud of the content we provide our community and to have our peers recognize our work as outstanding is such an honor.”

KNPB received a Communicator Award of Excellence in the Film / Video / Television category for the local feature on its weekly series ARTEFFECTS about art activist Ali Armstrong.

KNPB also received two Silver Communicator Awards of Distinction for additional local ARTEFFECTS features. The first for the feature on Moderngram, a collaboration project with dancers and videographers. The second awarded for the feature on Reno-based photo journalist Ian Wright.

KNPB earned another Silver Communicator of Distinction for its promotional video for the KNPB Education Services promo “Superman.”

“I am very proud to be able to work with a group of people who do such great work that impacts our community and people’s lives in such a positive way,” said Kurt Mische, President and CEO.

The Communicator Awards is the leading international creative awards program honoring creative excellence for communication professionals. Founded over two decades ago, it is an annual competition honoring the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and identity work for print, video, interactive and audio. The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA).
