KNPB Winner of Six Prestigious Awards for Local Productions

 

RENO, Nev. July 11, 2017 Reno’s PBS Member Station, KNPB has received six awards for its local productions.

KNPB received a 2017 Communicator Award of Excellence in the Film / Video Category for its documentary Raising Expectations and three Awards of Distinction for its weekly series ARTEFFECTS for episodes Shooting the West, Space Whale, and Will Durham.

KNPB also received a 2017 Silver Telly in the General Documentary Series category for ARTEFFECTS featuring Shooting the West, Space Whale, and Will Durham. The station received a Bronze Telly in the General Documentary Individual category for Raising Expectations.

“This is a testament to the great work our talented team does here,” said Kurt Mische, president and CEO of KNPB. “We are so proud of the content we’re creating and absolutely honored to be recognized for our efforts. Since our inception in 1983, KNPB has received 67 awards for our local productions.”

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, videos and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

The Communicator Awards is the leading international creative awards program honoring creative excellence for communication professionals. Founded over two decades ago, The Communicator Awards is an annual competition honoring the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and identity work for print, video, interactive and audio. The 2017 Communicator Awards received over 6000 entries from ad agencies, interactive agencies, production firms,

in-house creative professionals, graphic designers, design firms, and public relations firms.  The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA).
