Fawn Canady

Fawn Canady teaches English and Journalism at West Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas and is currently in her fifth year as an adjunct professor at UNLV teaching Methods of Teaching English.  At West, Fawn uses technology to facilitate Project Based Learning and blended models of learning, including flipping the classroom.  In addition to teaching, she has been a Project Facilitator in CCSD's Teacher Development Department and has developed online professional development for the district.  In this capacity, Fawn has also been part of the team building and facilitating the Blended Learning Certificate in Clark County.  She helped unwrap the Common Core Standards for the Curriculum Engine and is participating in transferring CCSS Units to online modules.  She helped launch a pilot using social networking (Edmodo) as a tool for professional development with new teachers.  She has presented at several local and national conventions.  Essentially, educational technology has been at the center of her teaching and professional learning.  Being a mother of three very active children and a wife also keeps Fawn busy.  When there's time, she loves to read, watch films, travel, and try new foods.

Terra Graves

Terra Graves

Terra has been an educator for more than 18 years. She has been a classroom teacher, a teacher mentor, and a staff development specialist. Currently, she works in the Educational Technology Department in Washoe County School District doing professional development. She has done extensive research on best practices in online teaching. Her course development and facilitation for the Nevada Pathway Project was recognized by the Partnership for 21st Century Skills with the John I. Wilson Leadership for Learning Award. Terra loves teaching in the online forum because of the rich discussion. Technology's impact on productivity, collaboration, and creativity inspires her to continue being an advocate for 21st century skills and tools in the classroom.

Susan Neal

Susan Neal

Susan is retired from the Elko County School District.  She taught 5th, 6th, and 8th grades for 16 years and spent 12 years as the Software Training Specialist and Elko On-Line Coordinator for the Elko County School District. She is also a SMART Certified trainer.  Susan loves technology and what it can do for teachers and education!  She enjoys travel and a good mystery novel.

Shawn Pennell

Shawn Pennell

Shawn Pennell is currently a project coordinator for the Northern Nevada English Learning Initiative (NNELI) in the Raggio Research Center at the University of Nevada, Reno. She has worked in a variety of aspects of educational technology since she was a graduate student in the College of Education at UNR in 2005. As a former teacher at a virtual charter school, Shawn learned both the potential and the pitfalls of online learning. She wrote professional development modules for Nevada administrators on the award winning Pathway Project and continues to help educational leaders across the profession in technology integration in their personal and professional lives. Shawn lives in beautiful Midtown Reno with her husband David, her son William, and baby Esther. She loves travel, reading, the study of human relations, and incorporating 21st century skills into all aspects of her life. She has lived in China and spent some long summers in Canada and Kenya and would like to own a dog someday.

Toni Rader

Toni Rader

Toni was born and raised on the Kenai Peninsula in south central Alaska. In high school, she performed in musicals and toured Europe and Asia with choral groups. Toni graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon with a degree in Elementary Education and from the University of Phoenix with a degree in Educational Administration. From 2006 to 2010, she worked as a professional developer at the Washoe County School District Assessment Division. Toni is currently the coordinator for the Education Support Professional Staff Development Division. She enjoys teaching online classes because she feels that they offer an opportunity for participants to deepen their knowledge about best practices. Toni and her husband Curt have a daughter, three sons, four grandchildren, a Dogue de Bordeax, and a Beagle. In her spare time, Toni enjoys scrapbooking and family history work.

Sara Stewart-Lediard

Sara Stewart-Lediard

Sara has a broad background in instructional technology, online learning, and teaching.  Recently, she has joined Washoe County School District as the educational technology specialist for the Striving Readers Grant.  Prior to this position, she worked for Clark County School District in Las Vegas for 13 years.  During this time she worked as a science teacher, site level technology specialist, district level technology specialist, and had the opportunity to work on two very large blended professional development projects.  One of those projects that she is very proud of is the Nevada Pathway Project.  Along with Terra Graves, in Washoe County, they worked collaboratively to design and deliver online professional development modules to teachers across the entire State of Nevada. The online PD provided teachers with best practices for effective technology integration including web 2.0 tools, mobile learning, and TPACK model of technology integration to support standards based teaching. In addition to her work with the award winning Pathway Project, Sara has worked as the instructional designer for the BLAST project, (Bringing Learning and Standards Together).  The BLAST project delivers PD to support the Math Common Core State Standards Roll Out.  

Sara loves sharing her passion for educational technology with all teachers and especially enjoys teaching online for the e4e program because she gets to work with educators across the State of Nevada.  Sara really is a native Nevadan-born in Ely, raised in Elko, and resident of Las Vegas and now, Reno!  She loves to work with Nevada educators and learning right along with them.
