Children from kindergarten to third grade are encouraged to write and illustrate their own stories and enter them in the Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest. These stories are judged locally and the winners submitted to the national contest. All local winners were invited to a special reception at KNPB Public Broadcasting. Their stories are recognized on-air and on KNPB Online.
