KNPB Channel 5 is reaching out into its community throughout 2005-2006 to lead our community and viewers "In Pursuit of Health."
KNPB is using both national and local television programs to raise awareness and to foster understanding of health-related issues in our community. Check online for a list of related shows or take a look at Channel 5's monthly program guide, Take 5. (Available in a PDF format on KNPB's Interactive Web site.)
KNPB is also producing three local call-in programs, titled OpenLine. All three local shows will follow the broadcast of special national programming on health issues. They offer Channel 5 viewers local perspective on national issues.
The next OpenLine production, "Teen Driving," will be broadcast live on Sunday, April 15, 2007, at 6:00pm. More
"In Pursuit of Health" will conclude with KNPB's participation in the Washoe County School District's Lumiere Film Festival. Interested area youths will produce a 60 second video on issue of health as it affects their lives. These spots will be judged and the winning entries will be broadcast on KNPB.
