The oldest and most effective way for people to communicate is to engage in a face to face exchange of information.  A good conversation between two formidable speakers has the power not only to inform and entertain, but also to enlighten and inspire those who witness it.  

In today's world, however, it's often difficult to find the time to engage someone in a real conversation.  Time always seems short and we're all on the go, which relegates us to faceless, impersonal communication methods such as e-mail and cell phone text messaging.

KNPB Channel 5 Public Broadcasting hopes to help revive the art of conversation with One on One featuring Humanities Scholar Clay Jenkinson.  We believe that this new series will afford you the opportunity to experience a wide-ranging, high-level dialogue on a variety of subjects. 

One on One will look beyond the standard rehash of current events commonly seen on television.  Clay and his guests will discuss everything from politics to education, religion and the arts with a historical, spiritual or philosophical context.

Sit down, relax for a few minutes and enjoy a stimulating exchange that will leave you entertained, stimulated and hopefully motivated to share what you heard with others.
