Description:
Kent Haruf's Plainsong follows four generations of characters
living in and around Holt, Colorado. There is a high school teacher
who must raise two sons after the death of his wife, an orphaned teenage
girl who must deal with her pregnancy alone, and two old farmers who
have lived long lives but experienced little beyond the boundaries of
their own property.
