The Nevada Experience explores the people and events that have shaped the Silver State.  Now in its tenth season, The Nevada Experience has been well received, and is a popular local program in the KNPB schedule.

You can know explore four The Nevada Experience specials online: Adolph Sutro, The Great War, Hope and Luck and Boulder City.   The online companion sites offers interviews, transcripts, maps, quizzes and more.

In April 2000, PBS Plus distributed Boulder City, our first production to receive this distinction.

This series has created strong partnerships between local humanities scholars and KNPB/Channel 5. A wealth of material on the history of Nevada, its culture and its people has been compiled that will be of value for many years to come. A copy of each program from The Nevada Experience is made available to the Nevada Humanities Committee, for inclusion in their Resource Library and to the Special Collections Department of the Getchell Library at the University of Nevada, Reno. The Nevada Experience is also used by elementary and secondary school teachers as supplemental teaching materials for classes on Nevada history, and on the history of the American West.
