Suicide is the leading cause of death among American teenagers. The Silent Epidemic is part talk show, part docu-drama and includes emotional interviews with teens who have attempted suicide. Grammy Award-winning recording artist CeCe Winans hosts a studio audience segment where teens and suicide experts discuss potential signs and causes of teen suicide and, most importantly, ways to prevent this rising epidemic.
Nevada has the highest rate of youth suicide in the nation.

Following The Silent Epidemic broadcast will be a special edition of KNPB's OpenLine. This live call-in show will give viewers the opportuniy to call into the KNPB studio and ask questions regarding the topic. A panel of local experts will be in the studio to talk about how Nevada is coping with this astonishing statistic, offer hope, and take viewer calls.
