Pioneering yoga instructor Peggy Cappy has set her own unique mark in the world of yoga by developing and teaching an approach that makes it accessible to people of all ages, abilities and sizes. Her two PBS specials, Yoga for the Rest of Us and More Yoga for the Rest of Us, proved that you don’t have to bend like a pretzel to be an avid yoga practitioner.
Continuing in her zeal to get yoga out to the population at large, Cappy is now featured in Back Care Basics: Yoga for the Rest of Us. The documentary special shows first-hand how the simplest stretches and exercises can contribute to back care. “Strong, healthy back muscles provide support for your spine and result in more energy and vitality in everything you do,” says Peggy.
More than 80 percent of us will experience some form of back problem at some point in our lives. This special was developed specifically with the idea of helping to prevent problems from developing and to provide relief if they do. Filmed at her home base in Peterborough, New Hampshire, Cappy will show viewers how the right exercises and yoga poses can dramatically protect the back and improve posture at the same time.
