Irish singing sensation Daniel O’Donnell shares the sounds of his homeland along with American favorites and breathtaking scenery in his new special Daniel O'Donnel at Home in Ireland.

Taped during a July 2007 show at the Letterkenny concert hall in County Donegal and from other favorite locations in Ireland, O’Donnell performs familiar Irish tunes and a selection of American pop standards. The perennial crowd-pleaser “Stand Beside Me” begins the program, followed by the country classic “Oh, Lonesome Me.”

Audiences are transported to some of the most beautiful sites in Ireland for O’Donnell’s renditions of “Destination Donegal,” “Dear Old Galway Town,” “The Blue Hills of Breffini” and “My Lovely Rose of Clare.” His trademark personal touch is evident as he returns to the church where he was baptized, received first communion and married his wife, Majella, to sing “It Is No Secret.”

The singer’s fondness for American pop classics also emerges in his spirited performances of “There Goes My Everything,” “Tiger by the Tail” and “You Are My Sunshine.”

Daniel O'Donnel at Home in Ireland also features longtime performance partner Mary Duff, who has the concert hall swinging and swaying to her powerful rendition of “Working Man” before she joins O’Donnell on stage for an emotional duet, “Save Your Love.”

In his eighth special for PBS, O’Donnell performs in a sentimental and traditional style that is familiar to and appreciated by PBS viewers. The program includes:
