Suze Orman: Women & Money

Suze Orman, the number-one New York Times best-selling author and financial expert, returns to PBS to inspire women to take charge of their financial futures. In her new special Suze Orman: Women & Money, Orman shares her surprising insights into the complicated and often dysfunctional relationship women have with their money. In the special, Orman also equips women with the financial knowledge and emotional awareness to overcome the blocks that have kept them from making more out of the money they have.

Suze Orman: Women & Money“Why is it that women, who are so competent in all other areas of their lives, cannot find the same competence when it comes to matters of money?” In what she calls the most important work of her life, Orman addresses that question and offers her original solutions.

In Women & Money, Orman argues that everybody wins when women become the architects of their financial futures. She zeroes in on specific financial issues facing women in every life stage – from buying a home to negotiating a competitive salary, financing a child’s college tuition and saving for and enjoying retirement. And, of course, the entire special features the empathy, savvy and wit that have become Suze Orman trademarks.

Orman is a two-time National Emmy Award winner. She was recognized as Outstanding Service Show Host for her two most recent PBS productions, For the Young, Fabulous & Broke and The Laws of Money, The Lessons of Life. Both programs were also nominated for Outstanding Service Show. Suze Orman: Women & Money will be Orman’s sixth program for PBS.

An internationally acclaimed personal finance expert, Suze Orman has been called a “one-woman financial-advice powerhouse” by USA Today. Orman is the author of five consecutive New York Times bestsellers: The Money Book for the Young Fabulous & Broke; The Laws of Money, The Lessons of Life; The Road to Wealth; The Courage to Be Rich; and The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom; and two national bestsellers, You’ve Earned It, Don’t Lose It and Suze Orman’s Financial Guidebook.

The host of “The Suze Orman Show” on CNBC, Orman is also a contributing editor to O: The Oprah Magazine and writes “Money Matters,” a bi-weekly column for Yahoo Finance. Orman was also profiled in Worth magazine’s 100th issue as an individual who has “revolutionized the way America thinks about money.”

Suze Orman: Women & Money was taped at the Napa Valley Opera House in California; its broadcast will be accompanied by the publication of Orman’s new book: Women & Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny (Spiegel and Grau, 2007).
