By most accounts, the 2009 session of the Nevada Legislature was one of the most challenging in recent memory. Because of term limits, it was also the last regular session for a handful of influential Northern Nevada lawmakers. This edition of A Conversation With, KNPB’s Michael Hagerty talks with a handful of the departing lawmakers to discuss: what the session was like, reaching a compromise on the state’s budget, facing a record number of vetoes from the governor’s office, their political futures, and much more.
Guests include:
• Senator Randolph Townsend (R-Washoe County)
• Senator Mark Amodei, (R-Carson City)
• Assemblywoman Sheila Leslie (D-Reno)
• Assemblyman Bernie Anderson (D-Sparks)
