 Program Summary:
Berenstain Bears is based on a very successful series of books that models a realistic view of family life. The program can be found weekdays on KNPB at noon. Berenstain Bears targets children of early elementary school ages and models positive family bonds, including: communication, conflict resolution, working toward common family goals, and showing kindness, love and support to one another. Bonds between family and the community are also seen in areas such as accepting new neighbors and volunteering to work on a local community project.
Meet the Characters:

Papa Bear is big-hearted and rises to all occasions in times of crisis. He is always ready to make whatever sacrifice in necessary for the benefit of his cubs. An ardent fisherman and outsdoorsbear, he is also very fond of eating.

Mama Bear is the wise, heart and soul of the family, the keeper of morals and manners. She is an avid gardener and loves to quilt as well.

Brother Bear loves sports of all kinds, especially soccer. He often acts as protector and stands up for the smaller cubs at school.

Sister Bear is a spirited, spunky third-grader. Outdoorsy and sports-minded she also loves fairytales, writing and jump rope.

- Healthy Habits:
Goals of this workshop include discussing nutrition, the food pyramid, favorite foods, and healthy eating habits. Participants will also learn how to use the "Learning Triangle."
- Jealousy (The Green-Eyed Monster):
Goals of this workshop include addressing the topic of jealousy and the "green-eyed monster." Jealousy and the feelings associated with being jealous will be explored through pantomime, discussion, and drawings. Participants will also learn how to use the "Learning Triangle."
