July 11 - Between the Lions "Poetry" (Head Start): |

Parents & children will have fun learning about poetry and rhyming in this interactive workshop. After reading, talking and watching a segment of Between the Lions , parents & children will become the poet themselves. Everyone will create picture poetry through thinking of simple occasions, occurrences, places, and things. Families will also learn how to use the "Learning Triangle."

July 18 - Clifford "Honesty" (Head Start): |

Parents and their children will read, discuss and watch a segment of Clifford, and complete a fun activity about honesty. One of Clifford's Big Ideas is "Being Truthful," we will explore the importance of being truthful and the hurt feelings that dishonesty can create. Families will also learn how to use the "Learning Triangle."

July 25 - Arthur "I'm a Poet" (Head Start): |

Children and their parents will read, discuss and watch a short segment of Arthur, and then complete a fun activity. One of KNPB's goals in using the Arthur segment is to help teach young children an appreciation for poetry and rhyming play with words. Families will also learn how to use the "Learning Triangle."
