With more than 50 years of legal and political contributions to the state of Nevada , Senator William J. Raggio is recognized for his concerted efforts in gaming and government affairs. Currently the Majority Leader, Senator Raggio has served in the Nevada Senate since 1972, completing eight successive terms.

Named by his peers as Outstanding Prosecutor in the United States , Senator Raggio was elected to three terms as district attorney for Washoe County and is a former national president of the National District Attorneys Association. He also was selected multiple times as the most effective state legislator in a poll published in The Ralston Report, and was named twice in a Las Vegas Sun survey of the Ten Most Influential Persons in the State of Nevada.
