KNPB PBS KIDS Writers Contest

Thank you for your entries!

Kids kindergarten through 3rd grade had the opportunity to enter their original stories in the 2019 KNPB PBS KIDS Writers Contest.

KNPB, your local PBS member station, is committed to serving children, families, and educators through free educational workshops, on-air programming and online resources. As part of our Ready To Learn service, we sponsor the KNPB PBS KIDS Writers Contest.

The contest encourages children in grades K-3 in communities in northern Nevada to celebrate the power of creating stories and illustrations by submitting their own original pieces. Just last year, 1700 northern Nevada children participated in the KNPB PBS KIDS Writers Contest, building their creative voices and developing critical reading and writing skills.

The winning students will be recognized at a KNPB event in the spring of 2019.

Judging is underway. Winners will be announced soon!

For more information, contact Joy Foremaster at writerscontest@knpb.org or 775.682.7823.
