KNPB PBS KIDS Writers Contest
Calling All Young Writers!
The PBS KIDS Writers Contest is a local contest hosted by KNPB Public Broadcasting designed to promote the advancement of children’s literacy skills through hands-on, active learning. The contest encourages children in grades K-3 in communities across northern Nevada to celebrate the power of creating stories and illustrations by submitting their own original pieces. Just last year, hundreds of children participated in the PBS KIDS annual writing contest, building their creative voices, as well as developing critical reading and writing skills.
Entries will be accepted from January 23, 2017, until March 17, 2017. Local winners are selected by KNPB in late April 2017. Winners will be featured in an on-air recording of their story, the publication of their submitted work and recognized at a KNPB PBS KIDS Writers Contest event in the spring of 2017.
